I have fairly tight quarters in my sps tank, and some of my coral are about to start growing to touch eachother.

There are times when I have found a sudden shift of the coral will lead to touching, and one coral usually winds up dying to the point of where I have to remove the dead skelaton in that spot.

I was just wondering if coral grow into eachother if they will live.

In particular I am speaking about Acros, Millipora and birds nest.

Thanks

Rich

Generally, no - you'll get war between the corals and one will lose. You probably answered your own question when you noticed what happens when corals shift and touch.

i agree for the most, based on what i have observed in my time keeping a reef tank.although there are coral combos that i have seen grow together,or dang near, and not kill off each other, but they do seem to grow a little different than normal.

but then ive seen types of plating milles grow together to make very neat formations.....

but i wouldnt want to risk it,ecspecailly in a larger established tank.

Saw the most amazing video on "Blue Planet" of two SPS colonies attacking each other.

Sounds like you answered your own question.
