i have a yellow carnation, although it is very ornage, and it sits next to my elegance coral..the elegance coral has actually attached himself the one of the trunks of the yellow carnation. Now, the carnation seems to be dying, at least that half of it...can I cut that trunk off without killing the rest of it?

how did the elegance attach itself to the carnation? Cataphyllias have a skeleton. Are you sure its an elegance?

Could be being stung by the Elegance, or may just be dying because it is a Carnation and and very difficult to keep in good condition.

You should be able to slice the tissue attached to the Elegance with a clean razor with out any problems, but Carnations are extremely tricky.
