Aquafuge 2 - Why do bubbles come out of my bubble eliminator?

I just installed an Aquafuge 2 small on my 20 gallon.

Why are there bubbles coming out of my "Bubble Eliminator"?

CPR calls it a "Bubble Eliminator" for a reason right?

There are no cracks on it or any damage. It's set up correct.

Also, there are no bubbles in the fuge at all.

My AquaFuge2 draws air into the output tube, thus the bubbles. I've tried to rig up my own "bubble eliminator" to get rid of them. It helps, but it isn't 100% effective. The updated design of the AquaFuge2 seems flawed to me. Other than the bubbles, I really like mine.
