If you only had one would you put it in your Ca Rxt or your tank?

I have mine hooked up to the reactor

Reactor as you don't have as much control in the tanks pH.

Tank pH issues should show up in long term items such as lack of O2 or something along those lines but reactors can change instantly but can be immediately controlled.

The only thing I think you could use the PH controller in the tank is for dosing kalk and controlling the effulent. Unfortunately I don't think leaving the controller to control the amount of kalk dosed is a good idea. As far as the effulent it might be good but I really doubt the amount of effulent you drip in to the system is going to drastically change the tank PH unless your not controlling your effulent effectivly.
