How often do you clean your U tubes?

I have gotten coralline and some other algae growth in my U tube. It's not obstructing flow, but figure its best to have a clean U tube "just in case". I was wondering how often others with HOB overflows clean there U tubes.

SaltyDr - I usually clean mine about once a month when I clean the return pump. I don’t want to take any chances on a clog and like to see the water flow! :)

I am lazy. ;)

I would say I do it about every 4 months or so. Do it at the same time I am cleaning my powerheads, figure since I have a bucket of vinegar/water mix that is a good time to clean it.

Monthly scrub does me fine, might be worth investing in a black 'hat' for them to limit their exposure to light. Although it makes checking the siphon harder.
