I just got my skimmer and it is collecting a lot of wet skimate. Should I have the cup set high or low at first. It has been on for about 2 hours and filled up with just wet nasty water. I dont want it to over flow overnight. Anyone ever have this problem?

It won't overflow - excess water will just fall back down into the skimmer, so don't worry too much about that.

If you want to skim drier skimmate (more foam, less liquid), move the cup up to its highest position. The lower it is, the wetter you skim.

If it's pulling just water and going crazy (overactivated), which it sounds like it is, there's usually a reason. Do you use a water conditioner/dechlolrinator other than AmQuel or Prime? Many others have ingredients that will overactivate skimmers, causing them to pull nothing but water. Other things that can cause this include medications, and contaminants from hands or air in/around the tank.
