I am setting up a 300 gallon with halides with a 65 gallon sump; what would be a good size chiller? Thanks Jeff

You will probably need a 1/2 horse. Most 1/3 hp are rated up to 300 gal.

I have two tanks, basement sump and fuge total 350 gallon system with a 1/4 H.P. chiller and it works as long as I A/C the house to 78 deg. Course the basement sump is a huge help here. Oh yea, I have two 250 watt MH 12, 39 watt t-5 ho, 2 65 watt pc. for lights.
If I were to buy for this setup and not upgrade like I have to here, I would buy a 1/3 H.P. though.

Living in Florida no basements and heat is definitely an issue; it was 90 degrees yesterday. Thanks Jeff

I would oversize the chiller to be safe and for planning ahead. I have 500g total volume with a 1.5 hp chiller, 220v. A little overkill but I'm planning a larger tank in the future.
