I have a couple genearal questions about a QT Tank:
I am comming to the conclusion to QT everything to goes into my tank

1. When you QT new fish what do you treat them for if anything and how much at the same time?

2.How long do you QT them

3. What kind of filtration do I need on the QT tank?

4. can I use tap water that I used conditioners for so the metals are non toxic ( I do however use RO water in my display tank)

Anything else I should know?

I found this article to be very helpful for setting up my QT tank

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-10/sp/feature/index.php

To fill the QT I would recommend a combination of freshmixed RO water, and used water from your main tank.

QT at least a month, and it starts over if you treat for ANYTHING.

you dont have to treat them some people do hypo salinity but its not necessary.

QT for 4-6 weeks

Use RO/DI if possible

hang on back filter I have the walmart 10 gallon setup I just put the filter pad in my display to get some of the bacteria in the QT.

There are 2 other things that you might need to know

1 when you do water changes in the QT take it from the display to help them get used to the water in there.

2 just keep a good eye on water parameters cause if its a small tank the water parameters can get whack quick
