I just received my live sand that i purchased off ebay in the mail today and noticed that they also included some rock rubble a few snails and some chaeto. I dont have a refugium and was wondering if i am suppose to put the chaeto directly in my aquarium???

You can put it in your aquarium. Most people don't because if you have it in a sump you can get more flow through it

Yeah should be fine in the main tank if you have an overflow I have heard of people putting it in there

I have a penguin biowheel 350 (biowheels removed). Could i put it in there or does in need to have light?

Chaeto definitely needs light. Not necessarily strong lighting, but it probably won't grow in your filter.

would be real careful putting your chaeto in your overflow!
