Brought this guy home Tuesday. He acclimated well and looked comfortable swimming around.
24 Hours later (Wednesday) he was still looking good, swimming nicely, breathing steady. Ate frozen mysis. That's when I thought I noticed some blotches near the tail.
24 hours later (tonight: Thursday) I took the pictures below. Whatever it is, its definitely progressing. The area is somewhat raised and ragged.
Please help me out with a diagnosis, and how to treat. I have formalin and Methylene Blue handy...

In this last picture you can see where the edges are ragged and protruding a little proud of the body. There is no other sign of fin rot, and his breathing and swimming is still normal.
