Pole, how high?

Hi.

i´m planing on making a pole or 2 for my tank, kind of like hve one in tank of the month.

How high should o have it? My tank is 24 inches in height.

That's an aesthetic decision primarily, just account for the growth of any animals you place toward the top of the stack so they aren't at the water's surface in just a couple of months.

In my 75g I used a similar pillar design that Paul used on his tank, I've got about 4" under the surface and the closest coral to the surface is sitting well below that. My 220g however, (not up yet) is 24" high and i plan to creat those pillars to where they actually stick out of the top of the water a little, maybe a couple inches or so. But as mentioned, this is purely aesthetic, I like the look.

Why do you want your pole to stick out of your tank?
