For a 180gallon aquarium which skimmer would you prefer :

The AQUA C 180 skimmer or the Aquamedic turboflotor 1000 SL skimmer ?

I would go with something larger than both of those. I run an EV-180 on my 75G.

Both of those are horrible choices. If on a budget look at an Octopus NW200. Decent performance out of the box and work outstandingly well with a few simple modifications. I run one on my tank which is about 275gals system volume and I love it.

I second the octopus. I have heard great things about them.

I have a nw150. It is truly the best bang for the buck that I know of.

I run a Tunze 9010 on my 75 gallon and WOW. Tunze makes some great pumps and stuff, but don't overlook their skimmers! Its been exceeding the great expectations I had for it after a local recomended it to me.

I have an AQUAMEDIC TURBOFLOTOR 1000 SL on my 180g and I remove 1 cup of skimmate every week. I think it is good right.

I never had an AQUA C 180 but I always heared good things about them. My friend have one and I was thinking to buy it that's why I am asking for some suggestions.

What do you think guys?

I have the EV 180 on my 180 and it works great. It is a skimming machine. This is a great skimmer if you set it up by the instructions.

Im running the TF 1000 and pull at least a cup a week of nasty skimmate also. I thought these were supposed to be good skimmers? Its working great for me, except for the micro bubbles.
