Does anyone know of a site that has Euro-Reef RS180 in stock...it is back-ordered everywhere... (anyone know why?)

also, which skimmer should i go for with a 210 gallon fish tank?
-euro-reef rs180
-precision marine bullet 2

If you get an ER, I'd use an RS250 instead of the RS180 if you can fit a 30" tall skimmer.

Premium Aquatics (http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=EURO) shows the RS180 in stock, but not the RS250

yeah i was looking into the rs250 but it wont fit in my stand, so my other option was the rs180 (which i have chosen)

try aquacave

I had a RS180 on my 180 and felt it wasnt enough.

Father in law has a DAS EX3 on his 210 and that thing is awesome! way better than my RS180

Dr. Fosters and Smith has 'em in stock....

the DAS EX-3 Skimmer sounds/looks great but...
-its too tall
-its too expensive

They still have them in stock

Get the EX2 then from experience that RS180 is too small for a 210.

10/30/2007, 10:15 AM
Agreed, the 180 is too small for a 210.

Davey, isn't the EX2 a 6" skimmer though? I'd say thats too small too. The EX3 is the better option IMO.

10/30/2007, 06:04 PM
yeah if he can fit and afford the EX3 its a slam dunk!

That is exactlly what my father in law has on his 210!

The EX-2 with a 6" body and 3.5" neck seems pretty small. The OP already stated that the EX-3 is too tall and expensive. With a height limit, options are somewhat limited.

10/31/2007, 07:05 AM
yoiu know what...the ex-3 MAY fit...i gotta remeasure, for some reason i thought it was 24" tall...but i remember the Euroreef250 barely didnt fit, and the rs250 is 30 inches tall...

if the ex3 can fit, does anyone know where i can get it cheap, because $700 is a bit expensive...

10/31/2007, 07:12 AM
petorama is the only place that I know that sells them.

10/31/2007, 07:18 AM
ehh i found some online that sell them for 700 bucks each,

the thing is when i was planning on getting the RS180, retailing at 450-500 bucks...i found one on ebay that im getting for 375$ brand new, with free shipping... i can cancel this order within probably about a week and the guy wouldnt have a problem with it...but going from a $375 skimmer, to a 700$ skimmer seems crazy to me..but if anyone can find a great deal, even off these forums (which i'll be looking at), could you please let me know

10/31/2007, 07:44 AM
If you go for the RS180, its $438 @ Premium Aquatics with free shipping. $375 is a good price, but be careful buying from EBay. Is it a real RS180, or an older model? Does it have the new wedge pipe outflow? What pump?

10/31/2007, 07:47 AM
its a brand new rs180... the guy has it back ordered from euro-reef, along with almost every other online site..so it is official...i just want to get a worthy skimmer..

10/31/2007, 05:54 PM
In my opinion i would continue to save a little more money and get the right skimmer the first time. an RS180 istoo small.

EIther get the RS250 or DAS ex3. But i would definetly save some more and get a bigger skimmer

10/31/2007, 08:45 PM
yeah if i were to chose between an rs250 and a DAS ex3..it would be the DAS ex3, just because of the height of it...the thing is it is 700 bucks, a little pricey..i need to find someone/somewhere that sells it cheaper

10/31/2007, 08:46 PM
What is the max height you have to work with?

10/31/2007, 09:54 PM
ATI BM200 will be a much better skimmer for a tank that big vs the RS180. It's not very tall either.

10/31/2007, 11:03 PM
i'll have to check the dimenision..i'll get it to you by sometime today.

11/06/2007, 12:40 PM
okay, so i have about 27 inches in my stand... the ATI bubble master looks pretty good...anyone know anything about it?

11/09/2007, 10:10 AM
I guess no one knows about it...?

11/09/2007, 11:51 AM
awesome skimmers, hard to beat the performance for the price, the only issue is that the pumps have start up problems, but once you learn the tricks to get em going, it's not a problem.
we have a bm250 on a 500g system so i have no doubt the bm 200 will kick tail on your 180g.
