DIY Denitrator

I just got finished making a denitrator and was wondering how long I should run it before turning the flow rate down... Also how fast should the drip rate after it has cycled...

i made one and i run mine wide open. i think you need to test to water leaving the unit. test for nitrite and nitrate. i always have zero readings of both for my whole tank. i have never tested the effluent but i know i am supposed too. if it ain't broke...

Thanks I will run it wide open for a few days and then drop the rate to 1 drop per sec and then as the nitrates and trites hit 0 Ill increase flow to full throttle...

I am using mine as a gravity feed system how are you running yours?

you have to make your adjustment slown nitrite rise speed it up little at a time nitrates rise slow it down
