View Full Version : Some new rock, scrub it??

I just purchased some live rock for my new nanocube 28g with the metal halide light.

It's been up since Saturday.

I just put the rock in tonight. It looks like it has algae on it. Can I leave this and get some CUC?? Or do I need to try and remove it?

Thanks for helping! This is my 1st tank.

If the alga is just a film, I'd just ignore it for now. If it has structure, more like a plant, it might deserve some more attention and possible removal.

just go get a few turbo snails, they eat it up real fast.

Its early, but they can handle variations in the water conditions. I added them already and Im only about two weeks in, but my parameters have been the same since day one and I have done a 5% water change.
