Hi, I'm just getting started in reef keeping and have a limited buget that seems to be eaten up by equipment costs. So I'm asking if you have any spare corals over reproducing in your tank and need an excuse to clean house I can pay you for your time and shipping costs if less than $20.00. I live in Schenectady, NY, 12308 for calculating cost. Please Email me at : rsharp3@nycap.rr.com if interested.
Sincerely,
Rick

Have you tried checking out www.cdmas.org ? Its the website for the local reef club in that area and theyre all pretty nice guys on there. Im sure if you asked around on there someone would give you a few small frags of a leather or xenia or something easy to start with. Hope this helps.

That some great insight there Jeremy, id say the OP is not commercial in the least... Id say they got the wrong forum is all.

Of course it is pretty hard to decipher what is commercial and what isnt around here, there are no set, public guidelines.

Beast, PM me.

Hey bro,

Look Solicitation up in the dictionary...or Wiki it and go to the talk page for the other meanings for soliciation..here I'll make it easy on ya.

"Solicitation usually is defined as oral persuasion to join in some endeavor or buy some product or service"

"Solicit, ask or beg" shall include using the spoken, written, or printed word, or bodily gestures, signs or other means with the purpose of obtaining an immediate donation of money or other thing of value or soliciting the sale of goods or services."

What I gather from these quotes from Wiki, is that if he were trying to get it donated for free, or were trying to sell something, then it could be considered soliciting...but as he stated he would pay 20.00 for the coral and shipping.

This thread in no way violates the TOS of this board, other than being posted in the wrong section IMO, but I think the mods should be the ones deciding who should read the TOS/Guidelines rather than us peons discussing this issue here. Just my 02 cents.

The guy was asking for someone to help him out is all, the 20 was to cover ship expense.

This hobby is as interesting as it is expensive. I have no problem with a new to the hobby fella asking for a little help and i surely dont think anyone was solicited. I dont think a response of "you just did something wrong" is a great way to welcome someone to the board. If you felt he did something wrong you have private message capabilities, and if it was so offensive to you, you could report it to a mod with the link they provide on each and every post, let the ppl who have the responsibility of dealing with things, deal with it.

Ty much, but sadly i tore it down. I kept all my stuff tho and mixed it into my sps system, going for a mixed reef. Shrooms zoos and leathers are still my high point of interest i think, i love softies.

Great job Kevin,
All are safe and sound in the tank...All except the anthelias, Ithink I should be able to save 2-3 of them...
Thanks so much Kev, and to all you haters...Pffffft. :o)

You might be cursing me one day for sending you that anthillia... Ive never lost any and i have given it away and traded it plenty of times, all from a small start. Its hard to kill, it can look real rough after a ship but i seriously doubt it will die on ya. It looks like death if i am too rough with it in the tank, it will shrink down and look a pale purple color and almost wrinkled up kinda.
