Here is a view of the 75g tank. 20g Sump hidden. Its still a work in progress.

I had an old 20 gallon tank. Sectioned off the 20g and hide it inside the old dresser. Where the water comes into the sump from the tank I have a section blocked off for LR rubble. then I have space for refuge. Then a section for return pump. I did it this way so if my overflow looses suction, only 3 galons of water will flow back into my tank not 15!! Overflow box brings water down and mag-7 returns the water with a seven foot long tube 350 gph. Later I will add live sand, LR rubble...and any recomendations.

I build the hood and housed 440 watts of VHO. 2 actinic and 2 10,000k. 2 ballasts housing 1 of each bulb. Left a little open space for air flow (cooling). maybe add fans later. For now I alternate turning one balast on at a time. alternating days. I turn lights on 8-10 hours per day. No corals so lighting is not important. I dont want to use up my bulbs life span.

Here is a small powerhead. I had it from 20g tank and use it for a little more water flow.

Nice looking fish. I like the "big toe" fish in the very first pic.

Do you have a skimmer running? (sorry if you said that somewhere, I couldn't see it).

If not, I would think about adding one soon.

Also, the amount of LR is minimal for what you will need to maintain a strong biofilter, depending on how much you have in the fuge.

Otherwise, keep up the great work!

Best wishes,

Do you still have the metal hose clamp on your pump in pic # 6, if so that thing is going to cause some problems !

Looks like a great start. Your corraline algae is growing well also.

I do have a couple of suggestions for you that are obviously just my opinion:
1. Syphon that deitrus out of the sump and/or put something in there that will help get rid of it by eating. I can't tell if you have sand in the bottom of the sump or not, but either way, I would try to get as much of that waste out of there as possible.
2. Add some more flow. It looks like you only have the return and one small powerhead in the tank. Adding more flow will allow more deitrus to stay suspended in the water column and get removed by skimmer. The increased flow will also help keep your substrate clear of algae.

You can get plastic clamps, or use zip ties.

Your fishes colors would really stand out with a black background on that tank.
