It is time to for this community to set aside its differences and come back together. Remember we are all here because we have a love for Reef Keeping and a desire to have access to a wide range of people that can help us with that passion. Let’s set aside petty differences about what shop bests suits your needs and who violated what rule. We need to get back to the core that is the foundation of this community, Reefing. We have been working real hard to get a club put together that is exciting, fun and rewarding to be part of. I would hope that our efforts are not in vein.

In the coming months we are going to go down to Brian Green’s for Frags and BBQ, we are gathering for our Holiday Party (the hostess has some of Tampa’s biggest and best tanks), we hope to start a raffle and continue with our frag auctions. We are also busy working on a “secret project” that we will need volunteers for, it is something everyone will be proud of. We are also working on bringing professional speakers to the meetings to talk with us about various aspects of reef keeping, both natural and in our homes. In September we are hoping to have an organized trip to Atlanta for MACNA, and to see the largest aquarium in the United States. That is just the stuff off the top of my head; this is going to be a great year coming up!

The most important part of all that is all of you! Without passionate members of all experience levels we have no club, and there is no reason for us to work on any of that stuff. Let’s chalk the last months and years up to experience, we know now where we do not want to be, and let’s work together to make this site, TBRC and then entire Tampa Reefing Community (all the local stores) something we can be proud to be part of. As far as I am concerned the slate is clean as of now, that goes for everyone.

There is a link at the bottom of every post: “report this post to a moderator” if you think a post is out of line for ANY reason, or just want it checked or watched, please use that link. The moderators are here to make the judgments, we do not need to, point them in the right direction and they will take the necessary action. Let’s work on building stronger friendships and leave the petty name calling and clicks behind us. If you do have a disagreement, please show respect for yourself and the other person or people and use the Private Message system to talk about it. We all have the same goals in mind, great tanks; let’s focus on helping each other achieve that goal.

Yours in Reefing,
Bryan Gifford

Couldn't agree more WarDaddy (how's that green nepthea doin?) That is precisely WHY i joined RC, and in particular became associated with TBRC. The knowledge, experience and in general good times have been worth every second I have put in.

Local reefers that are so willing to help move a tank ( and we all know first hand how much of a pain that is), GIVE you a frag to try, or donate a part for an emergency.... the list goes on, suffice to say I am here to stay, I have no desire to let a few trolls screw up such a great resource. All user groups have their pot-stirrers, it is up to the rest of us to keep reefing and make sure the posts don't stray too far from the tanks....

I enjoy reading the posts & can point to hundreds of useful tidbits here that saved me dough, and probably helped save a few aquatic lives.. not sure if corals have souls, but it can't be BAD karma to keep them alive :) hope we don't lose any valuable posters from all this bickery.

Definitely some bad stuff out there, but I have met a few of you guys, and everyone I have met here in tampa is right on.... So there are some out there that don't respect RC. RC has provided us an avenue to gel as a community, share ideas, meet each other, sell our old stuff, post local meetings, and the list goes on and on and on..... Point being, there is a button down below, you know the "Submit Reply" button. Do yourself, myself, and everyone else a favor, and think..... before you hit the button....

Personally I just try to ignore the nuckleheads.

The trip to MACNA sounds very interesting. Man I gotta go to one of those...
