My tank is 96x24x24 and currently run four 250w 14k Pheonix Halides, mounted in PFO mini pendants.

I'm wondering, if I switch to the Luminarc reflectors, do they throw enough light to have only 3 fixtures instead of the current 4?

I think you would be fine. I have three mini's over my 72 and without the canopy on, there is light spillage on all sides and the whole tank is completely covered, no dead spots at all. I think the big lumenars are 5" larger on all sides and can cover 36".

Where are your braces located? That would come into play also.

Good questions...especially coming from someone with a "Go Bears" on their info line. :smokin: Totally kidding. Truth be known, I was pulling for you guys in the SB last year.

Anyway, the tank is eurobraced every 2 feet. That's why I went with 4 pendants, because it worked out nice.

I think with three, it's going to be tough working around those braces. Look into the mini lumenarcs if you want get more light into the tank. When I turned mine on for the first time, I was shocked.

The amount of light spread on the current PFO fixtures even has shade areas in a 2x2 area. So I'm to thrilled. Even going with 4 Lumenarc mini's would probably be a huge improvement.

The difference is not even comparable. I had the Reef Optix pendants which are very similar to the PFO's and like I said, I was shocked. With 4 mini's on your tank, there will be no shaded parts at all, full light coverage!

I doubt it, you're a Packers fan and everyone knows that Santa hates the Packers, and especially Favre. :wavehand:
