Sebea on the move

Bad time to post during colts and pats game but my Sabea is on the move hes been in the tank for 5 months and isn't bleached or anything. He took food the other day I am worried that he is moving. My water is in good shape ph ca 440 alk 8.5 only thing is nitrate is less then 20 been on the down for a while. What do you guys think?

There doesn't have to be anything wrong for your anemone to move.

Hi,

I got a large Malu 18" from base to mouth, and it just keeps moving too, it settle for a day to a week and then it's off again.
My tank is 200+ gal and mixed currents and lights it feeds when settled in but it just wont stop moving, water is I would consider perfect and my other corals and nems are fine. I think maybe you get nems that have itchy feet. Or something is upsetting it and it has to move, but to be honest I have given up. I just try to keep my corals safe when it starts to bob around the tank.
If it continues I may move it out as your always worried were the thing will walk/float/bob too.

That is one really colorful sebae or did the cameras flash make it look that way. I didn't know they could have all those colors. Very nice:)

just a quickie question :D How much did you pay for the sebae? And how long has the store had it? I'm envious:cool: after i paid $35 for a pink dyed sebae that was actually bleached white, and is now in the process of being rescued. he's doin great, and good luck w/ yours mate

I think I paid $30 for mine. He was a little bleached. Heres some pics when I first got him, he was so small

I fed him every other day silverside soaked in selcon for the first month. GL with your bleached sebae :)

Whats the long term success with Sebaes in captivity. I recently heard that long term success is not very common. I have also thought they were an easy anemone

I don't know but I did see a post a few weeks ago of a guy with his head in the pic and a huge sebae.

I've seen quite a few Sebae anemones take up residence in a corner of the tank. However, they've all been H. Crispa, but the pictures of yours from when you first got it look like it might be H. Aurora.

Anyone else think so, or am I crazy?

I hope he stays there. I think he is moving because my MH bulb needs to be changed out. I have a cheap one that came with the fixture. Its been in there for damn about a year and I have a ushio 14k bulb on way :)

Ok now is a inch away from my clam and has stopped for today how worried should I get?

I had to move him away from the clam. I think I know the reason he is moving. I need a new light and when I was doing a water change the light didn't even make my arm feel hot when it was in the tank. I wont get my new bulb until the 14th, I hope he doesnt hurt my reef to much.
