Not bad, but the price is a bit high IMO. But I guess it's the store's first time getting them so oh well.

Hate to say this, but thats just a stupid price. Not even a rare color morph, actually kinda common. This one only cost me $150.
You have to be careful with all the hype and rage over Acans as people think that just because it's Aussie or Lord that it's woth any price, not true.....look around

There are 68 polyps on this rock (backside has polyps) and it's already produced another 30 or so frags with new polyps. I ended up cutting the backside off the rock off and fragging individual polyps that now have babies.

Here you can see a 2 polyp frag of the same coral which now has 5 new polyps that are kinda hidden

If they are happy with their new purchase why would you try to discredit it. What difference does it make to you if they paid $300 for it?

Cheers, Mike

Well first off, I wasn't trying to discredit, and second off I wasn't the only one to say it was a stupid price, granted I may have used a little bit harsher words than "that's a little high" Reality is that it's a "stupid price" simple as that, call it what you want.

If you come onto this site to brag about spending $300 for a some basic Lords, guess you better be able to take the good and the bad. Please explain to me why we should praise someone who spends way too much on a coral? I also offered advice for him to look around and that he could easily find the same corals for less, can I ask what constructive advice you have offered to this reefer so that he doesn't get burnt again,....Um... thats what I thought, nothing

well i dont think he was "braging" about what he paid for it plus i dont know of any other stores other than atlantis selling aussie'
stuff in the bay area and the prices are at least that. and beauty is in the eye of the beholder i think he was just happy about what he got. if you know of some places in the bay area to get these corals "alot" less let us know please.

Guess I came across a little harsh, Sorry, I just get ticked at the prices some of the stores charge for the "Rage Coral of the Moment"
Point is, most reefers are not limited to the LFS in the area, the web is an incredible resource, even some of the vendors on this site have better deals than the one posted, hence my comment about looking around. My comments were not aimed at ntrlfive in anyway, more of a reaction to seeing how so many reefers are getting shafted over exagerated prices for no reason other than greed.

Knowledge is bliss and understanding what a coral is actually worth is a learned artform, I understand the immediate gratification thing, I suffer from it as well.
My problem is that I see so many problems within this industry and I want to change things, but all I can do is try and warn reefers to be more aware and learn.

Classic example is a LFS in my area that has a 7 polyp frag of the same Lords I posted and they want $200, now I know of atleast several sites that you can get larger frags of this coral for $80-$100.

I'm sure you were not trying to come off so rude, but it did seem a little ruff the way you put it. even though i know you were trying to help. lets just put it behind us and hopefully he can get a better deal next time if it's availible.

Do not compare LFS prices vs. web store prices when the majority of web based retailors are woring out of their garage or a comercial location of the same size as a garage. LFS has much more overhead and best of all you get to see it before you buy it. To some buying sight unseen and then receiving a coral that the color is far more dull than the picture is not fun! Then you are told that it browned out due to shipping stress.
