Will a Bangai Cardinal fish eat cleaner and sexy shrimps?

I have a single Banggii with 2 Cleaner and 2 Fire Shrimp and they're fine.

Same here. I've had my single Banggii for over two years and he's currently with 2 cleaners and 1 Coral Banded. The cleaners were about 1/2" when I got them too. They're now about 1". You should be fine.

I just read that they eat shrimp and wanted to make sure mine would be safe...

How about sexy shrimp? Those guys are tiny.

They will eat sexy shrimp once they reach full adult size but cleaner, blood, coral banded shrimp should be ok.

I assumed they were referring to mysis/msyid shrimp, but figured if they had a taste for shrimp, sexy shrimp might be on that menu as well.

i had a really cute anemone shrimp in my 55 for over a year i added 2 cardinals and shortly thereafter the shrimp "disappeared". i'm pretty sure the larger cardinal ate it... :(

RIP shrimpie... :(http://fishman.smugmug.com/photos/106406311-M.jpg

thanks... shrimpie was my favorite... i had hopped he was too big or the cardinals were too small to "do the deed"... unfortunately i'm afraid i was wrong... :(

i wouldn't trust them with the smaller ornamental shrimp....

We kept stars and stripes shrimp in the tank where we were growing our baby banggais up. And all was fine, until one day....

The fish was less than an inch long, and the shrimp almost that size also. It wouldn't fit inside him and we couldn't get it from him either. You can see that it is misshaping the fish, and we were worried about it killing him.

The lesson here I guess is that yes, if it is possible, they will eat shrimp.

It's amazing what will fit in a cardinals mouth when he's "motivated." It just doesn't look that big!
