I have a small section in a large colony of zoos not opening. I thought it might be a nudi, so I dipped the colony in Reef Dip (SeaChem).

It didn't help. As the offending organism forced more zoos closed, I can now see what is bothering them. It looks like a small tube worm with a sweeping tentacle.

Any idea how to remove this bugger? I tried to grab it with tweezers, but at the time I didn't know what I was grabbing for. I'll have to give it another try........but any other suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

Is the tube in the rock or outside of it??? Are there more than one tentacle??? Kinda need more info to help you deal with it...

Oh, another thing it might be is a vermatid snail... They look like a tube worm... They cast out this mucous webbing that will aggitate zoanthids...

I will try to snap a photo tonight.

It looks like a single tentacle, with a tube outside of the rock.

I would say it is a spaghetti worm, they have one or two single tentacles that sweep in the flow... They can be a pain to the zoos, try using a nail clipper ora cutting plier to remove the tube from the base...

No no - nothing like that - a single, very small clear/white tentacle.

I took a photo, but I can't upload it tonight.

I forgot about ZoaId - a quick search might have IDed the problem.

Now to figure out how to get rid of it/them!

Yeah the Spionid Worm is what i called the spaghetti worm... Sorry for the confusion... I have had a few and theyre tube is made up of sand particles should be very easy to remove with a clipper... They form when you have excess detrius in the water... Good Luck getting rid of them...

If you can't remove it, place one drop of super-glue gel right over the tube opening, let it set up for a moment, and return the zoos to the tank.

Good idea!
