Good growth rate for a clam

I was wondering what a good growth rate would be for a clam? I have one around 4.5" and it has put on a full row of scutes in a month. My 2.75" crocea has put on a partial row of scutes in the same time. I know that crocea grow more slowly. So am I just getting good growth out of the crocea or am I not providing well for the maxima or am I just overthinking the whole thing?

if they are putting on new visible white shell and growing you are doing just fine
