I have a frag tank with about 6 different frags of encrusting monti as well as several others. I think I have nudis on one of the frags. I dipped them all on receipt and checked for eggs with a magnifying glass. The damage sure looks like what people post from nudis, but I've checked that frag half a dozen times and have never found one. Tried with lights out, with lights on, in the am, in the pm. Nothing. Can they be so small I couldn't see them under a magnifying glass?

If we have the same ones, they are noticable as a white fuzzy little thing, about 2-4 mm long but it may be hard to see against white coral skeleton. I just scrape them off with a shiscabob skewer. they don't seem to multiply. Don't know why.

if they are that small i doubt youd see the damage. Sure there is no Alk related issue causing it? They have always been easy for me to spot. (sadly)
i'm so paranoid on predator the slightest acro recession and im in a AEFW panic dipping checking etc. Luckily never have found them.

I think I may have found my problem. Either my blennie eats nudis or he's the one gnawing on my encrusting monti. I found him this morning kissing the damaged side of my coral. Anyone ever have a blennie go bad? I thought they were safe.

Yes, I had a bicolor blenny go bad, was eating acros and chalics. EVICTED! I think you have found your culprit.

bi color blennies are notorious for munching monti's, i've had a dozen people complain about not being able to keep monti's, and when i ask if they had a bicolor, the answer is usually yes.
