Can I take Large flat rocks that wash up on the beach?
Weve had some storms here in FL and awsome large flat rocks have washed ashore way way up out of the water. I have filled my 125 with them and they look awsome.
I tried to trade some but was told in the trading forum that rocks off the beach were illegal.
Anybody know if I can pick them up or not?

I did look in it, empty. But it looks cool in the pic, untill you look farther upshore and see 100's of bottles, then its not so cool.

Rock wise, I did at least get my tank full of free rocks. I got a couple of tank pics in flickr follow the link and browse around.

Well I asked the cop at the beach with the rocks, and he said take all you want. Once they are out of the water they are just rocks.

It is a common misconception on this forum that if it comes from Florida it's illegal. Not true. If it's on the beach you can cart away as much as you like. I have a tank with quite a bit in it and it's been great rock, and very economical too :)

Well actualy,if it's in the water line or where the sand is still wet then Fl Fish and game might give you some trouble. If you do some reading on it as long as it is out of the water line then it is legal. Also as long as you go out to international waters you can take it out of the water.Just not in state waters, which includes the wet part of the beach.BTW I have some nice LR for sale in Ft.Pierce.
