ok i have a 155 bow front reef tank not reef ready

it has 4 1" holes drilled across the top
2 of the holes are for the re turn in the center
2 are for the intake for the dart CL pump
see pic

tank has been up and running now 1+yr
but I'm moveing so if i should do someting diff know is the time

i use a mag12 for a return running wide open
and that is about max for 2 1" returns
the sump/fuge is a 30g tank with bafles
the skimmer is a hob you can see in this pic top left
http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u240/jacoviii/my%20tank/DSC00116.jpg
it is now down buy the sump

at the new house i will have a small fish room behind the tank
so i was going to use the 30 for just a fuge run 1 -1" return to it
and the other 1" to the bigger sump
i want a bigger better skimmer

do i need more flow or what
my buddy has a 155 bow reef ready and uses a dart or Sequence750 for a return pump
and a dart or bigger for a CL

I just kinda skimmed thru but it sounds like you could use to slow down the sump volume a bit. I don't think it's necessary to put that much water volume through the sump. Maybe 500gph through the sump and 100gph through the fuge. You should have plenty of circulation if you're keeping the dart on a closed loop.
By slowing the volume through the sump and fuge it helps the filtering system to be more effective, reduces chances of micro-bubbles and drain noise. It also allows a little breathing room if one of the drains were to become partially clogged.
