Just wanted to say thanks Michael for getting me hooked up with the Profilux 2 Light and a dimmable ballast.
Now the worst part- waiting for it to arrive!

I'm sure with the help of everyone here it will be no problem in getting it running.
What software do I need to download to be able to program it on my PC?

Ok so I downloaded the software and installed it on a older computer I was planning on using as a dedicated machine for Profilux. The comp. is running Win 98. I am not able to open the top left windows to change language.
I also downloaded the software on a comp. at work that is running XP and no problems. Everything works fine when running the demo.
Is the software not able to run on Win 98 or do I need to look further into if the comp. has a problem? I did turn my firewall off before downloading.

Hi,
Win2000 or upwards is necessary. We don't longer support 98.

Thats what I figured.
It was time to get XP for this machine anyway.
Thanks!

Michael the Profilux 2 Light has arrived!!
Just got done reading through the manual and now it's time to get busy setting it up. Should have the ballast wired up in the morning.
Maybe next time we take our chances using UPS. Post takes a long time.
Also maybe in the future a driver card box could be sold. It will make a much cleaner looking installation and keep things hidden.
Tanks!

UPS Standard is no quicker, and any other servise will rip your arm off, also you will have to pay brokerage with UPS!
I will make note of the request for the EVG-AP-2F to come with a driver box. But its purpose mainly is to sit inside the lamp unit keeping it small and tidy.
Good luck with the hook up

With the remote box there is no chance for salt corrosion. That is my only worry with mounting it in the lamp housing or canopy. Plus with remote mounting including the ballast there are only 4 wires running to the canopy. Much easier for maintenace since a waterproof quick disconnect can be used for the 4 ballast wires.
Just a thought.

In all honesty i would be very worried if you mounted it inside your lamp assembly and then suffered salt corrosion? That would mean the lamps are being splashed with water internally. Not advisable.
You can get suitable boxes from many hobby electronic stores online.
The LBF-AP does come with its own housing but does not have 0-Volt switching, which the EVG-AP-2F does, hense the reason for PCB module release.
An argument that can go on forever, but as I say as with all GHL requests, they all are looked into. This is what makes the GHL such a great community, all working together.
You can always post your request in the suggestions thread

Just to let you know the two interfaces for the dimmable ballasts are now in stock and can be shipped to your preffered retailer if you need one.
We have decided to supply to the retailers both types so it is down to your personal choice
