No, it's just so white compared to that now, polyp extension is not uniform for any of its frags, and they are growing very slowly. I think it has something to do with carbon use or a pH consistently below 8.0.:confused: Do you have any experience with it?

I might have that. I just broke a small frag off from the store on saturday. Mine looks great so far. I dont know much about that one. Are you using ro/di water? Not using it used to cause my montis to look faded and bleached. Or maybe you could lower it until it regains its color. IME some montis look better and are actually heathier when they have reduced light.

It could be m. samarensis too but i really think yours is m. porites.. it is really hard to tell until it grows out and even then its still a guess.

Yes, I'm using RO/DI. For some reason this coral is the only one acting this way. The original piece I brought home spread and darkened into the color in the pic, but later turned pale.

Is the coral colony in the pic m. porites?

What do you keep your parameters at? Do you use a skimmer, carbon, phosphate remover?
