Can I use this pump for my tank?

I moved into a house that had a hot tub and it needs to come out and I am wondering if this pump would be ok for my new tank set up I am doing.

There are 2 of these pumps.

Does a pump need to be salt water rated?

I wouldn't use it.

Saltwater is so corrosive that it will rust stainless steel. If a pump is not specifically engineered to handle SW, its a disaster waiting to happen.

Plus, I dont know what the output is, but man, that pump uses quite a bit of juice looking at the label.

Oh heres the answer you want. Sure i would use it , blow those fish and coral out of the tank and do it in style. Real men only use 5 times the power we need.

I can devert all the power to my frag tanks, main tank, hospital tanks and so on so the power is not an issue.

I was just asking about the Saltwater issue, but thanks for the insulting comments.

That is what I was looking for. Sounds like saltwater would not react well to it.

I will throw away the pumps when I tear out the hot tub and use other pumps for my tank.

Lol Demonsp is kinda on a power trip at the moment. I recomend a 20% water change and check the PH in the evening:strooper:

Mabe try to find the MFG on the net. Ask them, It still looks a bit shaky to me.
