Very nice Dan! That sucks that those bad oysters destroyed such a beautiful fish. What are you doing with your blueface angel?

Wow, what a beaut! Do you plan on getting another?

Btw, your other fish look great!

That blueface was in need of some care, fins were shot, and had some dark mark under the scales. 1 series of tetracycline and copper later it looks pretty darn good. I moved it into the house tank and will likely keep it. Too much work to nurse it back to part with it. Once it gets bolder I will have to take some before and after shots. All of the juvi look is gone from what I can tell.

Saltwater Guy, I have another blueline in the tank that has one eye, the other is missing but is healed over like a bubble, just nothing inside the lense or cover, what ever you call it. Got it from the lfs like that. It is about 3.5" or a bit more. Hopefully I can get it up to size.

Ahh. Well, if the "cyclops" is healthy, then I sure would be happy.

^^

Nice tank!

how aggressive are bluelines?

another question,
how did the emperor and the blueline mix?
I want to get an emperor but it seems like it would be difficult at feeding time.
and how did that goat fish survive with those 2?

Cyclops! I call it One-Eyed Willy! I just hope it gets big. My buddy just scored a big 6"+ blue just yesterday of all damn things. Hopefully he posts some pics soon.

Bluelines are aggressive, especially when larger like the one in the video (remember that large in the home is tiny in the wild). It was fine with the angel, just too mean to my big coris so the blue had to be moved. For feeding, the foods were 2 different types of food so never an issue. Blue wanted meat and nori, angel wanted pellets and lots of them. Goatfish was fine, but did start to get harassed after about 8 months and had to go. I love goatfish, they are just cool but when they eat meat they like to spit it out and catch it and chew then spit out again and over and over......that was just like teasing to the blue so it often snatched the food.

Hold on, there isn't a goatfish in that video at that time......there was a lyretail hogfish.......

It was about 6". I can't remember if I had it with a blueface or not. I did have to move it out due to aggression though with a fish, can't remember which fish. But the simple move from the house to the garage killed/stressed it to death.
