Frozen cyclopeeze and the all popular fish poo. :) It's funny, my SPS were not doing so well for the longest time. Now that I've got more fish they're starting to improve. Not enough fish poo! :)

I went 3 months without feeding my fish once...the fish stayed fat and the hair algae kept on growing.

Then I marked the lid on the fish food and came home to find the lid had moved. My girlfriend swore she didn't know how the lid got moved .

After her departure two fish died of starvation before I realized just HOW MUCH she had been feeding them.

I feed coral frenzy once a week and flakes two times per week once every 2 weeks mysis.
I find the coral frenzy great so far but turn off your return when feeding or most of it will end up in your micron bag.

I feed a combo of Rod's food, cyclopeeze, oyster eggs and frozen rotifer cubes. I only have 3 fish in my system and when I started a more aggressive feeding schedule my acros have responded with increased growth and much better coloration.

mach5, why do you supplement with cyclopeeze, oyster eggs and rotifer cubes?

all of those ingredients are in rods food already.

just curious.

are you feeding daily??? It seems like the SPS respond better to higher Nutrients in the water. So much for the BB theory???

Roberts722: Yes you're right all those ingredients are present on Rod's food. The question is that I don't know how much of each is really in the food. That's why I still think it may be neccessary to supplement with foods that are targeted to SPS and not necessarily fish.
CamBarr: I don't feed corals every day, although I do feed the fish once daily. Usually mysis & blood worms. I don't think that corals like higher nutrient levels. What I believe is that they benefit from a large infusion of food that gets removed via skimmer quickly so that you don't get any kind of nutrient build up in the water.

So what are they feeding on??? fish waste like the actual particulate matter or i have heard nitrogen which comes form nitrites and nitrates correct???
