Please give any information on getting and maintaing nitrate(not nitrite) eating bacteria in a reef tank or FOWLR tank. Please give any ideas and suggestions and such to how to accomplish this. It would be nice to be able to accomplish this and to get rid or the nitrates in my tanks. This would be far easier than water changes ever stinking week!!!! Thanks

There's the DSB in a bucket, which is SUCH a great idea since it's easily replacable when it eventually fills with detritus and such. Other ideas are to increase your skimming or getting a better skimmer, or cut down on feeding, or if you just can't keep them down in a relatively stable system, then a de-nitrator is a great idea for removing/reducing nitrates to nil, as well as adding calcium to the tank.
