There great for FOWLR's imo if they are easily changeable. For a reef there only use is to run carbon and that sort of thing. I've ran them on a fowlr with success in the past but its a pain to change out the media every few weeks unless you have one that s easy.

There awesome on FW tanks but i only run media like carbon and amonia rock in them. Or denitrator, basically everything but floss. U got the ps160 up yet?

I have a Fluval 404 and I run carbon and sometimes phos media in it. It think they make a better "reactor" than those tiny little ones typically used.

yeah its up and running its on my moms tank so when ever i go over its always messed up,lol Im not there everyday to tweak it so its been slow to dial it in but itll get there :) I spent about 3 hours over there yesterday fixing stuff she let the sump run empty, etc typical stuff. Its my fault for getting her hooked on reef tanks.

Its handy to toss the filter floss into your sump. If you need to set up a hospital tank or qt tank you will have biological filtration for it instantly.
