I am in the market for a pair of Tunzes for my 90 gallon. They will be ran on the 7095 multi controller. I can get the 6100s for about 290 each. I can get the 6101 for about 310 each. Whats the difference in these two pumps. I thought the 6101 was the updated 6100 but is the 6101 worth 20 dollars more than the 6100. If there the same pump it makes sence to buy the 6100 correct? please help me understand. Thanks

The 6101 has no seperate driver box, it is built into the motor. This has pros and cons. The pro is the driver is not water proof and in the pump, water damage is the main cause of driver failure. The con is that instead of 2 $90 parts you now have 1 $180 part if it should fail after warranty. You can also still get the cable connector wet and short out the pump. The 6101 is both a 6000 and 6100 in one unit. It has a jumper that lets you set the voltage and thus what pump it mimics.
