new filter system

I moved recently and decided to start all over on my tank, and I broke my filter during the move as well :(
I am not very familar with types of filter systems so am looking for any suggestions for my 55 gal. thanks

I think most tanks depend primarily on live rock and protein skimmers for the basic filtration. A canister filter and similar setups can be used for activated carbon or a phosphate media, though.
