I seen this at a LFS and couldnt resist, i cant say i have seen this type of chalice or echino. Whats the difference anyway?

Very unique pattern- I really like it. I would guess Echinophyllia, but its pretty difficult to tell.

As far as the difference between chalice and Echino, Chalice is a common/trade name. Its kind of like saying 'brain coral'; it refers to a group of corals that belong to several different genera. Most of the time chalice refers to coral genera that include Echinophyllia, Mycedium, Echinopora, Oxypora, and occasionally a few others.
