Hi.

i´m setting up a sump, is it better to use pipes to lead the water from the sump to the tank then to use a hose?

I use flexible pvc whenever possible. That way you dont get any elbows (which slow down flow a lot)

it all depends of your application, and your puzzle ability. you have to watch out for kinks in hose so longer expanses need PVC. in order to counter the slowing effect just use larger diameter pipe/hose. and dont forget, once its glued, it aint goin to move.

if yore able to keep the elbows and angles to a minimum, PVC pipe is the way to go.
