It could look better. Looks like typical Montipora eating nudibranch damage to me. Pull it out and check for small 1-2mm white creatures at the edge of the healthy tissue where it meat the dead tissue. Use a magnifying glass as they are very hard to see. I recommend using a object such as the tip of tweezers or wooden barbeque skewer and rub along the dead tissue where it meets the edge of the healthy tissue. Then take a toothbrush and do the same thing with a toothbrush. Also, brush off the mount the coral is on and any dead tissue. I like to rinse the brush and tweezers in freshwater and then dip it in saltwater (just place a little water in a cup) frequently to rinse off and kill any of the basttards that may be on my utensils. Then shake the coral in saltwater before placing the coral back into the tank. If it is mont eating nudis, they can make quick work of that small frag.

Hate to say this but it looks like it is just about gone. How long have you had it?

Well opinoins seem to vary quit a lot.
I´ve only had this frag for about 2 weeks.
There is a growth spurt in it, a clear line that indicates that it haf grown about one mm, isn´t that a good sign?

It depends. What did it look like when you first got it? Any pics?

its really hard to tell from that pic, it could be damage from epoxy, recession or it being eaten by nudis. check it out at night.

Looks fine to me, the recession looks like it is from mounting etc..

Has the recession just appeared and is it spreading? If not than I would not worry really.
