How important is it to test for Iron?
Since many companies sell iron additives, I don't want to use any until I know what my parameter is.
Any good Iron test kits?
I would have thought AWT would include it, but they sent me a response that they don't to keep the price economical.

Iron is not something that needs to be a certain value, within reason.
Randy would always say, he just adds some once a week to help his macroalgae.

i've had really good luck growing chaeto by dosing about 1/3 to 1/4 of what the kent iron recommends. My macro growth is almost out of control haha. Sometimes I just don't dose until I see the growth slow.

Iron can be consumed quite rapidly, so it's one of the additives that can be dosed without testing, at least I don't test. So I have dosed the Kent iron product as per the label. It can help with macroalgae, from what I can tell.
