Hello all,
I haven’t been on this site for awhile. My 90 gallon tank is doing wonderful. Corals are growing like crazy and fish are all healthy. With the cherry cabinet and lighting I have this tank looks beautiful in our family room. I was able to pick up a 150 gal glass tank and am thinking of setting up a fish only tank in our finished off basement. Just live rock and bare bottom. I don’t want to spend a lot off money as I still put money into my 90 gal. The tank is not drilled, what type of filter should I run for this tank?

Thanks Dave

There is a forum on here for FO systems...just a few down from this forum.

Live rock IS a filter. Get around 150 pounds of it for that size tank and you'll be fine with pretty much nothing else. Just lots of flow and rock has always worked for me. I dont run filters on any of my tanks, and if i do i just use them for carbon.

I would just use a large sump, filter sock, and a good skimmer. You will be fine.
