I hear people talking about adding garlic extract to thier food. Are they just talking about like minced garlic that you can get at the grocery store or is there a special kind that is sold at the LFS???

thanks.

Buy a small jar of minced garlic at the grocery store. Drain the garlic juice into a container, and soak flakes in a small amount of juice when needed.

They do sell concentrate in the LFS. I use kent garlic extreme. One drop is enough for a cube of food and it should last a VERY long time.

I do not use it daily.. just occasionally.

If you choose this method make sure you read the jar. minced garlic comes packed in water or oil. I don't think it would be a very good idea to add garlic flavored oil to the tank.

i chop up a fresh piece of garlic and dice it up really fine. Soak it in a cup of RO/DI water for a day. when feeding time comes around just add some to the fish food and marinate it for 15 minutes with the garlic water and feed. never had any issues. my tangs love it

Garlic extreme is expensive at the lfs... I buy mine on line. I can get 4 oz's from www.vividaquariums.com for the price of 1 oz at the lfs. I buy Marine C and test kits there too.
