I got this bulb and hook it up when the light came on there was 0 blue/white, it was yellow. Will this bulb color up to white?

should be blue/white right from the start. i ran one using an aromat electronic ballast, bulb was brand new and it was crisp white/blue. maybe has to do with your ballast or wrong bulb?

if for some reason you got a ushio 10k by accident, i can tell you they are yellow, even on an electronic ballast. I've owned them.

I have one and it never lost the yello look. I would like to think that it was not a 10K by mistake since the Ushio guys brought it to me for testing. So far I like the Iwasaki 50,000K best for a white bulb with a hint of blue/purple. I have not tried the 150 watt Iwasaki Aqua2 but it might be nice also.

should break in, although I don't remember mine being yellow when I first fired them up.l

The package said 150w 14k, I am pretty sure the bulb had that printed on there. Here is pics of my balast:

Any better? I just popped in the 14K (150w e-ballast) today and it's terrible. Not happy so far - looks tea colored like my planted fw tank.

my 2 Ushio 150 14k was blue out of the box! To be honest, it was too blue for me, so I switched to 2 AB 150 10k (13K).
