so is the nano on your 210g + 50 sump?

Actually i use a two sump system its 210 +50+30=290. i'm just testing the skimmer. I think thats to much tank for the nano especially since i feed heavily.

I just started up my nano cone the other day. I have it in 6" of water in a 30g tank with no life in it, I just wanted to see how it runs. It definitely shoots out a lot of microbubbles, and I'm getting some surging - I don't know if the surging is because there are no organics to build up a foam head or it's just the meshwheel settling in. I'm running it completely open right now. The entire cone is filled with tiny condensed bubbles though, like how you see in the neck of a normal skimmer, the whole body is like that. Also it is even more silent than my BK mini 160.

Give it about a day the bubbles will lessen if you want no microbubbles use the restricter that i sent you.
The surging is the water going up and down in the skimmer?

bubble level going up and down like the pressure builds up and then collapses

I will give it a couple days and then try the restrictor just to see the difference, I may pour in some dirty water from my other tank just to see what happens too.

would the nano be to small for a 150g total system with a moderate bioload but hevy sps

I feel that the new nano (7.5 inch base and 4 inch neck) would be fine on a tank that size

Right now I'm running the nano on about 280 gallons and it is performing very well. Its getting about 2 to 21/2 inches of skimmate every 3 to 4 days. The cup is 6 inches in diameter.

Are there still nanos available in the original (smaller) sizing? Is it possible to get one of these with the needle wheel vs. mesh wheel as was mentioned as a possibility in another thread?

Yes you can still get one of the nanos in the orginal size with a needle wheel. These sizes are still current for the EU. We will get a shipment in about two weeks.
