View Full Version : Help... Tunze 6100 is low flow

The flow on my 6100 is minimal, even at max setting. The output on driver has been set to 100% (as far as I can tell). Just hooked up another 6100 and compared visiblely the flow. Wow what a difference! They were both bought used, but from different people. Always thought there was somthing wrong with the first one, but never had anything to compare it to. It was running by itself.
Not sure if it just needs cleaning or there is more to it. Is there some replacement part that it may need? Other then low flow rate, pump is in good condition.
Also... the round transformer is smaller than the "new" one.
old: 115V /11V /20VA
new: 115V /19V /60VA

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,

Hi
Mt.Dreamer,

The transformer will effect the flow as this is the difference between the 6000 and 6100 the transformers are interchangable between these two models, this is the only difference between the pumps.

Graeme,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Because the smaller transformer was being ran with a 6100 pump, will there be any damage to either the transformer or pump?
Assume not since the transformer is interchangable, but thought I would ask.
If the previous owner bought the tunze pump as a set, would he have had a choice between transformer size? Or does the manufacture (Tunze) make that decision? Example: Marine depot sells complete Tunze packages. There are slight differences between the sets I bought (example: driver color).
Would there be a chance that one set is older than the other and this being a reason for the changes?
Can't believe how much difference in flow there is between the two!
Would I be able to buy a lager tansformer itself? If so, any suggestions where to buy? Appox. price?

Thanks again,

Brian

No it will not hurt anything, basically from the sounds of it was probably either purchased as a 6000 or the previous owner bought a 6100 and had put or replaced the transformer and put one from a 6000 on it. Is there a part number on the smaller transformer, believe the 6000 is 7210.202 and the 6100s is 7410.602. The transformer for the 6100 runs 72.32 currently

Yes, the smaller transformer is: 7210.202A
Larger tansformer is: 7410.602A
Where is the best place to buy the replacement transformer?
The price you gave is thru who?

Thanks,

Any Tunze dealer can order it for you, most places charge the same for Tunze products. Not everyone may have it instock but they can order it from Roger if not
