Can the new vortech MP40W control a MP40???

I wanted to get some of these pumps, 4 actually, but was wondering if I need to buy all MP40W's to get the wave motion or can I just use some MP40's plugged into one MP40W??? Also, im not sure if 4 pumps is an overkill? This is my set up and I will only be able to have the pumps on one side.

If you want all 4 pumps working together in sync or anti sync you will need all 4 MP40W's. If you already have the MP40 all you need is the WWD upgrade. A standard MP40 driver can not communicate with a MP40W.

Its a 400 gallon tank...thanks a lot for the comment
