Im currently setting up a 75g reef and need opinions on a good skimmer for a 75g mixed reef. I was thinking of the octopus nw 200 but dont know yet. Please help....Its going to be an in-sump skimmer if that helps and Trying not to go over $300.sump is 36"x12 ,thank you.

the 9010 is a intank or sump skimmer.
better in the sump tho for the size.

das ex-1 would be my suggestion.

I'd go with the das ex1 or the octo 200 from marinesolutionsinc.com The das is 285 and a recirc. The octo200 is 179 and not a recirc. Both are plenty. I wouldn't go with the tunze as i think both of these skimmers work better. Unless you have very very limited space.

No don't go Tunze 9010, I hated that skimmer, especially now that I have a Bubblemaster 160. I agree on the DAS EX-1, that's probably the best skimmer for your 75g setup that is close to $300.

Here is another place that sell the DAS ex-1

I have a das ex 1, on a 65 gallon tank with 1 diamond goby, and it pulls out a full collection cup of dark skimmate once a week.

I just picked up the RPS 1000(pacific coast: http://www.pacificcoastimports.com/product.cfm?sid=61291879N10557032117002Q1195833301569R74S141S162S162U28240068C45&p=148&cs=products%2Ecfm%3Fsid%3D61291879N10557032117002Q1195833301569R74S141S162S162U28240068C45%26c%3D24% 26kys%3D%26pg%3D2)
I got a steal on it for $140 used. I don't have it yet but I am thinking this is going to be a great skimmer for my 75 that I am setting up in about a month!

DAS ex-1 or tunze 9010, I would get the DAS first unless you have a small space for your skimmer then the tunze is the way to go.
