tangs are not completely reef safe and are occasionally known to pick at corals. Not much you can do really besides take the fish out

They are voracious algae eaters and if they dont have a somewhat constant feeding they will start to please they're apetite. But some just dont have luck when they reach 3-4'' like earlier stated... Good Luck!

Hippo's are considered more omnivores than herbivores.

my hippo which is about 5" eats any food in the tank based simply on proximity, while the naso makes a point of going for nori if available.

Hi, I had the same problem with a hippo, feeding is not the problem once they start they won't stop. I sold mine. Then I tried a saifing tang for over a year was fine and then starting picking at my dendros, duncans, acan you name it, feeding was not a problem. They get 1 1/2 sheet of nori a day, frozen food, whole shrimp. etc.. very fat but they won't stop messing with the corals. I had to sell it too. I'm done with tangs :(

Same problem here with my hippo. My tank is more fish only these days partially due to that guy. I do love him and don't have the heart to get rid of him.

Once had a powder blue tang that also ate corals. With a tang, your usually safe, but you never know.
