Im thinking of installing a MH into my stock hood but dont want to spend a couple hundred at nanotuners to buy there setup. I have a aquamedic pendant that im thinking of gutting and using it inside my stock hood. My questions are has anyone gutted out a pendant and installed it in the stock hood of a 29 biocube??? If so what did you use? How are you dealing with the heat? Pics would be great
thanks

From what I've heard, not a good idea. I thought I saw someone add one but can't remember where. I would be worried about the hood melting and then the thing coming loose and potentially falling into the tank. Best to pull the hood and use a clip on. But I have been wrong more times than not :)

I stand corrected. Just was at Nanotuners and looks that you can do a 70W HQI without heat issues. I bought the 4.36 kit from them and was very happy with it. They do provide everything for the task.
