my water pressure in on the low side 25 psi or so according to the meter gauge. of course I am thinking of a pump. but I would like to here your thoughts.

Do you have a RODI with a pressure gauge already installed?
Is your pressure that low with new/clean prefilters?

city water coming into the house my unit is in the basement hooked up to wash room sink. I am thinking a 8800 pump.

I think you are right. The system won't work worth a darn at 25 psi.
8800 plus transformer is a good approach.
If you want the pump to shut off automatically then get a pressure switch as well.

I tested the pump and transformer today looks like the transformer went bad makes sense. the pump are very durable I didn't get to test the pump but I know the transformer is bad so it's resonable a new one will fix the problem also order the pressure switch yours looks much nicer then the others I have seen. hope to have them by the end of the week.

thanks Russ pressure went from 25 psi to 45+ psi

Great. Adjust that small allen screw on the head of the pump and you should be able to get it higher than that.
